This product is reported to absorb dirt particles from your carpet.
The product is supposed to act like millions of absorbent sponges that absorb the dirt.
Once dry, the zorb particles can be vacuumed up and disposed of.
It will not stain or leave any residue.
It is supposed to be ideal for wool and stain resistant carpets.
The zorb itself looks like a bunch of freshly produced sawdust.
It is a bright tanish yellow color and has a nice lemony smell.
It feels slightly moist to the touch so i suspect you need to keep the bag tightly closed when not in use.
The back of the zorb package has many pictures but very few words of instruction.
From what i can tell, there are three columns of pictures on the back.
Each column is arranged under a type of dyson vacuum cleaner.
Apparently dyson makes a special zorbster vacuum that can automatically dispense zorb.
All in all i thought these pictures were a little confusing.
It also cautions to check for color fastness.
Using zorb on 7 year old carpets i have tried zorb on my carpets twice, and will probably try to use up the container that i have.
So looking at the dyson hieroglyphics on the back i realize my vacuum cleaner model is not listed, but it is similar to the dc07 so i decide to follow that column of pictures.
First there is this picture of a bag of zorb being sprinkled onto the carpet.
That seems pretty straight forward.
For the column i am following it shows a little carpet attachment for the vacuum.
I look through my dyson dc14 animal gear and i find a little wand attachment with some wheels and a brush.
This attachment is about 6 x 5 inches or so.
The picture shows this little device mounted onto the end of the dyson wand and the picture indicates working the wand back and forth over the carpet.
So i am looking at this little attachment and i am thinking, dyson cannot be serious.
Well that is what i did and it was rough.
Actually, all the grooming pictures are pretty vague as they show working different vacuum cleaners back and forth over the carpet.
No mention if you should turn them on or not.
Some of the vacuums having spinning agitators that only really spin when the machine is on.
But then if the vacuum was on, it would suck up all the zorb and not do much of anything.
Dyson needs to rethink its sparse verbiage on the package.
After waiting for 30 minutes or until the zorb is dry, you can then proceed to the 3rd and final step.
These pictures are pretty straight forward and they obviously want you to turn on the vacuum and run it over the carpets and vacuum up the now dirty zorb.
I could not really tell when the zorb was dry, so i just went with the 30 minute rule.
If you like a lemon citrusy smell, then you will enjoy your 30 minutes of zorb covered carpets.
The end result after sprinkling and grooming, waiting 30 minutes, and then vacuuming the zorb from the carpet, i was not really sure the zorb had done much of anything.
So i must wonder, was zorb too late for my 7 year old carpet?
I am not sure.
I do think going over the carpet with a steam vacuum gives you a much better result.
Plus, i am just not sure what type of dirt zorb was designed to get out.
I might recommend zorb to a friend with new carpet, but if you have older carpet, you might want to use another product.
